Members of the newly constituted boards of commissions and parastatals in Akwa Ibom state have been told to uphold honesty and accountability in their various departments.
The State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel gave the charged when he inaugurated the boards of nine commissions and parastatals at the Government House in Uyo.
Governor Emmanuel who described the inauguration as a major boost to his administration’s quest to take prosperity to all segments of the society charged them to be above board and always put the interest of the people at the centre of their actions.
He warned the appointees against corruption, and advised them to have the interest of the less privileged at heart in all their dealings.
According to him the present administration in Akwa Ibom has declared zero tolerance for wastage in public finance through strict adherence to probity and accountability.
Among the Commissions and parastatas whose board were sworn-in are the State Judiciary Service Commission, Local Government Service Commission, Civil Service Commission, State Secondary Education Board.
Others are State Technical Education Board, State Universal Basic Education Board, Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Akwa Ibom State College of Education, and Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Service Commission.
