The National Co-operative Financing Agency of Nigeria (CFAN) in collaboration with Computer Warehouse Group (CWG) PLC has stated that it will provide a standardised cooperative technologically driven platform that would meet the operational needs of cooperative societies in Nigeria.
Speaking at a press conference organised by the agency on the commencement of the unified cooperative platform in Abuja, the executive secretary/CEO of CFAN, Emmanuel Atama stated that in the current economic recession and effort to maintain stable financial balance, the only way forward is corporative, which gets fund either internally or externally to help members unhindered access to finances.
Atama explained that “the platform will equally help in making our current drive for inclusive pension, healthcare, housing and others very easy and accountable on the part of collating the contributions from our teaming members and remittance to appropriate quarter and serves as the bedrock upon which the much desired National Co-operative Development Fund is anchored”. He said.
He added that the innovation serves as a one stop-shop for all technology needs of cooperative societies, it solves issues of accountability, productivity, monitoring and reporting needs of every cooperative society and connect them to the apex body for purpose of ascertaining their contributions to the overall growth of the economy so as to enable government and development partners understand the level of support they should extend to co-operative activities in Nigeria.
