Ondo Guber: Protect Your Votes, Resist Rigging, Mimiko Tells Women

The wife of Ondo State governor, Mrs. Olukemi Mimiko, has advised women in the state and other eligible voters to protect their votes and resist by all means , any attempt to manipulate the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Mimiko who also urged women in the state to warn their children not to be used during and after the period of the election to foment any trouble , expressed optimism that the election will be peaceful as it has always been in the state.

The wife of the governor who made the disclosure at this month’s edition of her meeting with women groups held at Ore in Odigbo local government area, also advocated politics without bitterness so as to ensure peace in the state.

The programme also feature lecture presentation titled: “Women  A Reliable Pillar in Nation Building” delivered by the wife of PDP governorship candidate, Mrs Enoh Ebunoluwa Eyitayo Jegede.

According to Mrs Mimiko, “we need to go back to our various houses to talk to our children and husbands to preach politics of peace, tolerance and love to them so that peace could reign supreme in the state during and after the election.”

She noted that the role of women in political development cannot be overemphasized as they are the anchor of life on which human existence depends .

While thanking the people, especially women folks for their support over the years, Mrs. Mimiko charged them on the need to stand up, protect their votes and participate actively in the forthcoming election.

She noted that what Mimiko’s administration has done in the last seven and a half years has clearly shown that, the governor has the people of the state at heart.
