The Nigerian music icon, Innocent Idibia otherwise known as 2Face declared yesterday in the Seat of Caliphate that, Northern Nigeria is generally very peaceful.
2 Face who divulged that he has been to some states of the north, decried that, only few individuals are trying to dent the image of the region, adding that, the north remain a home of peace.
“I have had the opportunity of been in many of the northern states. North is very, very peaceful generally. Just that, once in a while, you tend to see pockets of issues that others used to condemn ten entire region”.
Giving reasons for his visit to the Seat of the Caliphate, 2Face said, he is a Peace Ambassador and therefore derived pleasure in promoting peace across the nation and globe.
“We are here to bring Muslims and Christians youths as well all well-meaning Nigerians to come together for a peace rally”.
The music icon who said, he will not release any other album this year, assured that, his next album for next year will be awesome.
2face was accompanied by his wife, Annie Idibia, his manager (Dafe), Sound Sultan and host of other fans.
Speaking on the essence of the visit, Rev. Father Sixties Onuh said the essence of peace and peaceful coexistence amongst Nigerians cannot be over emphasized.
Rev. Father Sixthus who divulged that, aside the peace rally, 2face will also be speaking in town hall meeting with youths from the state on why they should sustain and improve on the peace that existed know the state.
The event, according to the organizers also include road show, gala night and a stage performance by up-coming talents as well as the guest artists.
Giving reasons why Tuface (2baba) was featured a member of the organizing committee told LEADERSHIP that, his personality alone commands unity amongst the Nigerian youths.
“2Baba have over time championed the cause of unity of purpose especially amongst youths of not only Nigeria, Africa but world at large”
On his part, another member of the organizing committee, Nafiyu Bassakwacce, added that, Sokoto state remained a model of peaceful coexistence in the nation and they would therefore want to use the platform to admonished all Nigerian youths, irrespective of religion, region, ethnicity or class difference to kindly embrace one another in brotherly love.
According to Nafiyu, having a better united country in the future has to do with ensuring that today’s youths are better equipped with the knowledge and genuine practice of love, tolerance and above all, unalloyed patorism to our fatherland.
Nafiyu therefore called Nigerian leaders of today to try and avoid sowing seeds of discord in both their private and public dealings.
