The Arewa Citizens Action for Change (ACAC) has expressed concern over the myriads of challenges confronting Nigeria as a nation.
Meanwhile, the group has issued a 10 day ultimatum to the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) and the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), to rise up to the challenge and proffer solutions to the economic challenges.
A statement issued by Chairman ACAC, Sani Mahmud Darma and made available to newsmen in Kaduna, noted that the present administration under President Muhammadu Buhari emerged in the mist of multifarious challenges.
“These challenges are multi-national and multi-dimensional. The government has enormous responsibility to tackle these challenges, at least, to justify the support of the public especially the lower segment of the population” he stressed, adding, that the expectations of Nigerians and indeed the global world remain high on the government.
Meanwhile, the group said, “we commend the Buhari’s administration for its determination in curbing the Boko Haram menace and its relentless efforts to overhaul security challenges confronting the Country as a whole. It is worthy to specially commend the Nigerian Army under General Tukur Yusuf Burutai for exhibiting professionalism and abiding by the Rules of Engagement in that regard.
“The change mantra is perceived by many to mean another form of a ploy envisaged at creating poverty and economic hardship on the people. The situation of the economy is extremely alarming and unbearable.”
