A member of the #BringBackOurGirls(BBOG) group, Dr Manessah Allen has commended the military for assisting Internally Displaced Persons to settle in their various communities, especially in Chibok.
Speaking during an interview yesterday, Allen stated that the military in Chibok has become a rock for the people adding that they had also shared their foods with the IDPs.
Allen who is a native of Chibok, explained that the military also help in mobilising the community in the war against terrorism add that it has also help in uniting the people to forge a common front in fighting and ending insurgency.
“The military in Chibok are doing very excellent job of assisting the internally displaced persons from Various villages around Chibok who have been sheltered by the community. They share some of their foods with the IDPs who they now ask that the Government, Internal NGOs, local NGOs visit and assist the people.
“The commanding officer is a pillar in community mobilisation against terrorism and he is really uniting the people to forge common front of ending insurgency,” he said.
Allen added that the military not only share food with the IDPs but has also helped in keeping the are safe by patrolling the area and making sure that the people are protected from the insurgents.
“They patrol the near by areas with bicycles, and on foots for areas not accessible with their military hard wares. He boys are really motivated by his courage and sincerity of purpose.”
“The soldiers help with community effort of constructing culverts to assist and maintain road usage in the Chibok community,” he said.
